Thieme will be exclusively responsible for sales and marketing activities for the OrthOracle platform in the Indian sub-continent.
OrthOracle, an UK-based surgical education platform, has tied up with Thieme, a leading supplier of information and services contributing to the improvement of healthcare and health.
The collaboration between Thieme and OrthOracle brings together two of the leading medical content providers in orthopaedics. OrthOracle, the online orthopaedic surgery e-learning atlas from the UK-based provider of the same name, offers comprehensive and practical content that visualises every step of orthopaedic surgical procedures. Furthermore, the platform provides critical insights from experienced surgeons on the entire surgical journey from examination and assessment to surgery and rehabilitation. Under the agreement, Thieme will be exclusively responsible for sales and marketing activities for the OrthOracle platform in the Indian sub-continent.
Thieme has been operating in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh for many years. “Our goal has always been to provide quality medical content to the Indian audience across all medical specialist fields and we are excited to bring OrthOracle’s expertise in orthopaedics to the Indian markets,” said Dr Nitendra Sesodia, Senior Director, Medical Communications & Corporate Sales at Thieme and responsible for the entry of OrthOracle in India.
Ajit Kohli, Managing Director and CEO, Thieme India and South Asia comments: “OrthOracle’s mission is to optimise surgical education to improve patient outcomes and support orthopaedic surgeons worldwide. This partnership perfectly complements Thieme’s global mission to contribute to better medicine and healthier lives.”
Mark Herron, FRCS, Managing Editor, OrthOracle, comments, “There is no country in the world where our content is not highly relevant to orthopaedic surgeons of all experience levels, and our partnership with Thieme will significantly accelerate our visibility to surgeons, specific healthcare systems and implant companies in India and the region.”
Developed and maintained by surgeons, OrthOracle is an independent resource full of practical information validated for both experienced surgeons and surgeons in training. Clearly illustrating every step of surgical techniques through comprehensive series of high-resolution images of live operations, OrthOracle is the go-to reference for learning and refreshing procedures step-by-step. New techniques from across the orthopaedic spectrum are published regularly. Surgeons will also discover unique and critical insights from experienced colleagues on the entire surgical journey, from examination and assessment through to surgery and rehabilitation, to help inform their decision making. Detailed and certificated CPD/CME modules for most procedures, as well as validated certificates detailing the time spent using OrthOracle, complete the offering.
“We also look forward to understanding the specific educational needs of Indian surgeons and developing more comprehensive digital tools for them, as well as producing region-specific content with Thieme,” explains Mark Herron. Dr Nitendra Sesodia adds, “This collaboration will bring together our strengths and capabilities in the medical content domain and the expertise and resources of OrthOracle via a comprehensive and state-of-the-art digital platform in Orthopaedics.”
Thieme is supporting OrthOracle’s entry into the Indian market and has recently started sales and marketing activities for the online platform.
