The new multi specialty hospital is expected to serve over 10 million people living in Ranchi and surrounding towns and cities like Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Dumri and Rourkhela.
To take care of tertiary medical care needs of the people of Jharkhand at affordable price, Paras Healthcare and Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) are jointly building a 300-bedded multi specialty hospital in the state capital Ranchi.
The new hospital in Ranchi is part of Paras Healthcare’s next round of expansion plan across the country, for which the healthcare provider has recently raised Rs 275 crore from private equity fund Creador.
“We have always been focusing on providing quality tertiary healthcare services across north Indian states and with our super specialty facilities in Gurgaon, Patna and Darbhanga already serving a large number of patient from the region. The new facility in Ranchi will help us further pursue our goal of bridging the healthcare accessibility gap in this part of the country,” said Dr Dharminder Nagar, Managing Director, Paras Healthcare.
The hospital group is “actively looking” at other North Indian cities for opening new hospitals that “can help people avail quality healthcare in affordable prices”, Dr Nagar added.
The Ranchi hospital will take the overall capacity of the group to 1,305 beds under operation and it will be the eighth hospital by Paras Hospitals in the country.
The group is also building another super specialty hospital with a capacity of 225 bed at Panchkula, the satellite city of Chandigarh, and another mother and child care facility with 50 beds at Noida in the National Capital Region.
The Ranchi hospital is expected to serve over 10 million people living in Ranchi and surrounding towns and cities like Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Dumri and Rourkhela.
At present, people in Jharkhand are forced to travel to other cities like Kolkata and Delhi to avail tertiary medical care for diseases like cancer, bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, heart ailments, disorders of nerves and brain and bone related operations.
Paras Healthcare at present has five operational hospitals in Gurgaon, New Delhi, Panchkula, Patna and Darbhanga. Two more are soon to be commissioned in the coming financial year.
“We are extremely delighted to partner with Paras Healthcare for this state-of-the-art multi- specialty hospital. We at HEC are extending Paras Healthcare all the support for early start of the hospital. Paras Healthcare has immense experience in healthcare services in metros and other cities and they will bring the same here in Ranchi,” said Avijit Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director, HEC.
“We have already started the process of planning infrastructure, manpower requirement and medical equipment to build and operate a world class medical facility. We are putting our best efforts to commence our operations before the projected schedule. We have been the first NABH accredited hospital both in Haryana and Bihar and we would like to establish the same quality systems and processes in this hospital as well. We are certain that like Patna and Darbhanga, Paras Hospitals Ranchi shall also prove to be an excellent healthcare provider,” said Dr Kapil Garg, Director-Business Strategy and Intelligence, Paras Healthcare.
