Dr. M. Wasim Ghori has been part of many different healthcare initiatives; he is impacting health in the developing world and moving the needle in a meaningful way around Chronic Disease Management viz., Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease and Obesity. He is a practicing Diabetologist and serves as the Group Medical Director for a chain of Specialty Clinics – AMSYS Heart & Diabetes Clinic, Mumbai as well as the subject matter expert for AMCHART – a patient driven Electronic Medical Record on a public/private blockchain with AI for analytics and incentive driven model for better health outcomes.
He is also an award-winning Healthcare Consultant and Co-Founder of Rx Healing Canvas who partners with Healthcare CEOs, Executives and Entrepreneurs with the aim of using visual art in artfully designing hospital environments and experiences that are engaging, patient-centered, aesthetically pleasing and research-based.
He graduated with a distinction in E.N.T. from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 2004, obtained training from the prestigious American Heart Association before moving to the United Kingdom for post-graduate studies. He holds an MBA in International Health Services & Hospital Management from London South Bank University (LSBU) where he spent considerable time studying the National Health Service and its learnings for India. He has obtained a Fellowship in Healthcare Management from the prestigious Royal Society of Public Health and undertook Leadership Excellence and Employee Engagement Workshops at Dale Carnegie Training Center, London.
In December 2018, he had the unique distinction of being part of the LIMCA Book of Records propagated by Lions Club International for highest Diabetes Check-ups done at one venue. He was a member of a steering committee on Empathy and Innovation/Patient Experience Summit at Mid Cheshire Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, Cheshire, UK. As a Hearty Voices Member at British Heart Foundation, he was part of a steering group that influenced the research funding decisions and helped shaped their work. In addition to serving in numerous impactful roles in diverse sectors in healthcare in the UK and India including non-profit hospitals, private hospitals and for-profit healthcare industry, he has volunteered and supported London-based charities viz., British Heart Foundation and Mouth Cancer Foundation amongst others.
